New year, new conservation challenges. Talks, events and exhibitions on how our experts look after everything from paintings to pitchforks.

Activities take place from 12 pm-4 pm, unless otherwise stated, and are included in general admission. So if you already have a valid pass you can come along for free!

Come and learn hints and tips on how to conserve your historic house for your children and grandchildren.

Join Nic Fulcher, project manager for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, as he talks about conserving the archaeology at New Place and redeveloping the site.

Join the conservation team and unearth the joinery marks throughout the cottage. Please arrive promptly, numbers are limited to 10 visitors per tour

SHAKESPEARE’S BIRTHPLACE, DAILY THROUGHOUT JANUARY
As you explore the house throughout January, images from our archives will reveal how the interior looked to visitors during the early years of Shakespeare's Birthplace being open to the public.

Draw The Model
SHAKESPEARE’S NEW PLACE, EVERY SATURDAY IN JANUARY (PLUS 2 JANUARY)
A guided tour around the New Place house model, exploring the in-depth research conducted to create its stunning visuals. Learn all about Tudor interiors, construction and what life was like at home with the Shakespeares.


Workshops

Here's metal more attractive
SHAKESPEARE’S NEW PLACE, 11 & 25 JANUARY
The conservation teams will talk about how we clean and preserve the sculptures onsite. Come along to find out how long it takes to clean one sonnet dart and how to make the bronze shine. Weather permitting visitors will be able to have a go at cleaning a Greg Wyatt statue.
