Visit Stratford-upon-Avon

Tue 16th August
View of Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church

Visit Shakespeare's Grave and the graves of Anne Hathaway, Dr John Hall and his wife Susanna Shakespeare and Thomas Nash in the chancel of Holy Trinity Church.

Also in the chancel are 26 fine 15th century carved misericords. On the bank of the River Avon, this is one of England's most beautiful parish churches.

Regular closures
Chancel is closed (no access to Shakespeare's grave) on Tuesdays 10 am - 11.15 am for Holy Communion. Rest of church open to visitors.

There is no access to Shakespeare's grave on Sunday mornings, when services are taking place. Church is usually open to visitors 12.15 - 5 pm on Sundays, unless Baptisms are taking place after the morning service, when church will be closed until 1.30 pm.

Please note

The opening hours are always subject to the demands of a busy parish. However, we quite often need to close at fairly short notice (e.g. for funerals). On the day concerned, these times are always listed on the Church notice board in the Churchyard.

We do not open for visitors on Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
