ALCESTER MALE VOICE CHOIR 44TH ANNUAL CONCERT

Alcester Male Voice Choir is very popular and well respected within the community. The wide- ranging repertoire is learned and rehearsed extensively in order to present a good confident performance that is exciting, moving and inspiring when heard live.  People who have never heard them sing before are often thrilled with the music they have heard and their monthly charity concerts benefit from much needed funds.

Lead by their Director and Founder Judith Land BEM, they have felt privileged to sing in Worcester Cathedral, Town Hall and Symphony Halls Birmingham, St George’s Chapel, Windsor, the Royal Albert Hall, Blenheim Palace and may others. They enjoyed the experience of singing on BBC’s Country File programme and have undertaken many successful concerts abroad, the most recent performing at the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate, Ypres, Belgium.

It is a pleasure to return to Stratford ArtsHouse with its large, flexible auditorium that is equipped to high professional standards.

DAVID STARKEY - HENRY VIII: THE FIRST BREXITEER?

Henry VIII, like a colossus, bestrides the history of our country. He invented the idea of British uniqueness; in fact, the Reformation could be defined as the first Brexit, when his ministers devised the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty.
