The MAD Museum
The MAD Museum (Mechanical Art & Design) holds an exciting assortment of weird and wonderful Kinetic Art, Automata and Steampunk.
It is located on Stratford upon Avon’s Sheep Street and if you venture down our tunnelled entrance you will find a world full of whirling and churning, weird and wonderful machines.
The MAD Museum houses an exciting assortment of exhibits which are superbly engaging for all ages. The attraction offers an extravaganza of visual entertainment with lots of rolling balls and plenty of clanking and rattling thrown in for good measure! Think Health Robinson mixed with a Scrapheap Challenge and a hotchpotch of futurist mechanisms and then stir it all up with mind blowing creativity and ingenuity.
The MAD Museum holds over 100 pieces; both large and small. Follow the museum’s walk way around 2 floors full of far-fetched designs and quirky contraptions. On the way out of the museum pay a visit to the MAD Garden, this is where outdoor wind and water machines are displayed.
Come and step into an eccentric world of moving art; The MAD Museum is a wonderful place to experience and interact with an extraordinary assortment of both modern and old fashioned, yet highly innovative, machines! Look out for the 1939 Chevy pick-up truck, which will be driving around Stratford, you are likely to hear it before you see it!!
